The original pool in this hilltop garden was not square and had to be replaced to add a safety cover, so the terraces were replaced as well with a light colored flagstone to collect the light when viewed from above. Garden walls were made of shingles to match the historic house and monumental stone piers were added for a sense of grandeur. A raised hot tub was designed as a fountain at one end of the pool garden. In the front garden a gazebo was designed to cantilever off the front hill to take advantage of valley views. Plantings are traditional with boxwood borders and flowering favorites of the owners.
